Various Abishegam Offering to Lord Murugan and the Benefits
Thaipusam, a significant Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Murugan, traditionally involves the ritual of offering milk as a gesture of gratitude and devotion.
But just think what will happen with thousands and thousands of people are taking milk for Thaipusam? Remember the source of milk is COWS !!!
In line with the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, specifically Chapter 9, Verse 26:
It emphasises devotion rather than the material value of offerings, there is a broader range of items that devotees can present to Lord Murugan.
Beyond milk, simpler yet meaningful offerings with devotion a leaf, a flower, some fruits, or even water, I delightfully partake of that article offered with love by my devotee in pure consciousness.
To further diversify the offerings, alternatives like rose water, sandalwood paste (santhanam), sacred ash (thiruneer), turmeric (manjal), sugar cane juice, coconut water, and sesame seed oil can be considered. These alternatives not only provide a variety of choices but also resonate with the principles of compassion, eco-friendliness, and respect for all life.
It is essential to emphasise that the adoption of alternative offerings is a personal choice for devotees, and there is no compulsory requirement to deviate from traditional practices.
Do share and create some AWARENESS, SAVE MILK and SAVE COWS!
OM SARAVANABHAVA 🙏
