ABOUT THE CAST:

Suresh Ramskay is a writer, filmmaker, actor, teacher, son, brother, and husband - though on certain days, keeping track of all those roles feels harder than writing a screenplay. Passionate about storytelling in all forms, he continues chasing a life in the creative industry while balancing the far less glamorous reality of trying to make ends meet. Between teaching, filmmaking, acting, and surviving adulthood, he has learned that no script is more unpredictable than family.

As the eldest sibling, Suresh grew up carrying the invisible title of “the responsible one.” While that role sometimes feels like an honour, it more often comes with pressure, especially during moments when serious family problems arise and he has absolutely no idea what the correct solution is supposed to be. Thankfully, his siblings have never treated him like he needed to have all the answers. In many ways, they became his second set of parents - the people who step in, support him, and occasionally save him from completely panicking.

Family, to Suresh, is messy, loud, loving, exhausting, and impossible to escape from - often all at the same time. Though tensions can run high, especially between parents who struggle to see eye to eye, he knows that beneath all the arguments, sarcasm, and raised voices is a family that still shows up for one another when it matters most. And perhaps that is what keeps him believing in stories about broken families: sometimes the cracks are also what hold people together.

ABOUT THE CAST:

Monica Mohan is an educator who loves stories in all forms - words, songs, and theatre - and has recently begun exploring storytelling through acting. She is among the few millennials who grew up bearing the consequences of the decisions made by the adults in her life.

She knows what it feels like to be the mediator between parents who no longer speak to each other. She became the daughter who turned into a therapist when her parents were unhappy in their marriage, and at times, even a prosecutor. She has witnessed seasons of a happy, complete family, as well as seasons where everything shattered into pieces, with both phases arriving interchangeably throughout her life.

Over time, Monica mastered the art of masking her pain with smiles. Leaning heavily on her religious beliefs, she continues to navigate life’s complexities - experiences that have slowly shaped her into the fiercely hyper-independent woman she is today.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT / DIRECTOR:

Growing up in a traditional Indian Muslim household with a touch of liberalism, Fa Abdul was raised between two very different energies. Her mother kept the family grounded and together, while her father encouraged his children to think critically, speak up, and stand firmly on their own two feet. Although she grew up surrounded by love and care, being the middle child often meant fighting quietly to be seen. Long before theatre entered her life, Fa had already learned how to perform - through humour, opinions, storytelling, and the need to hold people’s attention in a crowded room.

Today, much of her work draws from the emotional complexities of family, identity, guilt, sacrifice, and belonging. Family remains deeply important to her, perhaps because she understands both the comfort and the emotional weight that comes with loving people deeply.

As her parents grow older, Fa often finds herself caught between duty and desire. There are opportunities she dreams of taking, places she wishes she could travel to, and versions of life she sometimes wonders about. Yet the thought of not being present for her parents weighs heavier than the fear of missing out on the world. She knows time is moving for her too, but some sacrifices feel easier to live with than guilt.
