Your wall is only as quiet as the ceiling above it.

A partition can carry a strong STC rating and still let a meeting be heard next door. The usual cause isn't the wall itself. It's the open ceiling void above it, gaps at the track, or a light ceiling that lets sound pass over the top.

That's why we look at the ceiling detail at the same time as the wall. When the space above the track is closed and the edges are sealed, the room performs on site the way it was specified.

Specifying a partition this quarter? Send us your requirements, and we'll check it before it goes to tender.

Selamat Hari Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ

On this day in 1963, Malaya, Sabah, and Sarawak united to form Malaysia, the nation we call home today.

A day to celebrate the unity and shared spirit that bind us across every state and community.

At IWC Group, we build spaces that reflect that same spirit, bringing people together under one roof.

A training floor, built for privacy and pace, delivered with Applied Spaces.

A global sportswear and lifestyle brand needed a training floor in Taiwan that could hold up to daily, back-to-back sessions, without one room interrupting the next.

UNIQ Double Glazed forms the boundary between the corridor and the enclosed rooms, finished in a dot-gradient frosted glass that keeps the space feeling open while still controlling sound and sightlines where it matters.

CLAZ Series runs between the training rooms themselves, each panel operating independently, so sessions can run in parallel without bleeding into each other.

This project was delivered in partnership with Applied Spaces , our partner in Taiwan, bringing IWC's systems to a market outside Malaysia without compromising on spec or finish.

Building a space that needs to move as fast as the teams inside it?

No Whiteboard Needed. The Wall Already Does the Job.

A training floor has two acoustic problems, not one. The boundary to the common area needs to stay open. The boundary between training rooms needs to hold, especially when two sessions run at once.

This project, for a global technology and electronics components supplier in Penang, solves both. UNIQ Double Glazed sits at the common area edge, STC 45-48, open sightlines with sound still controlled. CLAZ Series runs between the training rooms, STC 45-49, in a writable glass finish, so the divider doubles as a whiteboard.

The result: parallel sessions and no interference.

Most delays on a project don't start on site. They start with a spec that was guessed at too early.

Send us three numbers before anything else: your ceiling height, what's on the other side of the wall, and how often the room needs to change. That's enough for us to confirm the right system, without back-and-forth, and without the risk of re-specifying halfway through.

Ceiling height alone narrows BOZ, CLAZ, or ECOS. What's next door sets the acoustic target. How often the room changes tells us if operable is even the right category.

Send those three numbers to [email protected]. You'll get a real answer.

Flexible Where It Needs to Be. Fixed Where It Matters.

Not every room in a financial institution needs to do the same job. The training room needs to scale up and down with headcount. The smaller meeting rooms need to stay exactly as they are, private, contained, every time.

This project uses two different IWC systems for two different rooms. The training and larger meeting spaces run on UNIQ Double Glazed rated STC 45-48, fully operable so the room can open up for full sessions or divide down for parallel meetings. The smaller meeting rooms run on T108 Double Glazed, rated STC 45, built for consistent acoustic privacy in a room that doesn't need to change.

The result is a floor plan where every room is specified for what it actually does, not fitted with one system stretched across every use case.

Need a space that adapts room by room instead of one-size-fits-all? Contact IWC to plan your next workspace.

Operable Wall and acoustic panel get used interchangeably more than they should be.

They solve different problems.

An acoustic panel treats a surface that already exists. An operable wall creates or removes a room entirely, on demand, engineered to a specific acoustic and structural rating.

If your project needs a room that can open and close, that's an operable wall. If it needs an existing room to sound better, that's a different scope entirely, and worth knowing the difference before it's on a tender.

Not sure which your project needs? Send us the brief.
