PLAZA MORELOS
Plaza Morelos located in the heart of the city very close to the National Park, next to the Garden of the Martyrs, in its high corners are the Temple of San Francisco, that of La Inmaculada Concepción, two important museums La Huatapera and the dedicated to Dn. Eduardo Ruiz and that is housed in the House of Culture that at the time was an important part of a Monastery.
Around it the typical and wide commercial portals, characteristic of the old colonial towns, in them are all kinds of shops and hotels, in the cafes you can savor the typical Traditional Coffee of Uruapan or a delicious and authentic avocado palette. At this point you still breathe a provincial air, you can see children playing, couples walking, men with hats sunbathing, talking or reading the newspaper.
Due to its large esplanade it serves as a stage for different artistic, cultural, social manifestations, etc. and it is the framework of the most relevant event in the city and that takes place year after year during Easter, the "Tianguis Artesanal de Domingo de Ramos".
