OUR MISSION:

MAKE TULUM AN ART DESTINATION

WHO ARE WE

In January 2016, Tulum Art Club launched the first contemporary art and cultural space in the Riviera Maya, bridging the gap between local communities and social projects. We’ve curated a space that allows traveling artists visiting Tulum the chance to interact with artists, travelers and locals. We are a vital force in Yucatan’s emerging a

rt scene, with a blend of contemporary pieces that showcase the thriving culture of Mexico as well as the world abroad. It all started with Residencia Gorila, an artist residence and guest house located in Boca Paila, Tulum. Our artist residency programs are designed to create a positive impact in the community. Murals, workshops, exhibitions and concerts are facilitated by our artists during their stay. WE ARE HERE TO SERVE CREATIVELY THIS BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY!

Some murals are painted fast from the imagination
others are the result of slow listening
For El mundo mágico de los mayas Leonora Carrington did not start with a studio sketch
she started with months in Chiapas
staying with an anthropologist
drawing ceremonies she could not photograph
studying local animals
and watching how people relate to mountains
plants and time
The mural condenses all of that into one surface
Mayan cosmovision
her own surreal universe
and the thin line between myth and everyday life
Stories like this sit close to our heart at Tulum Art Club
when we invite artists to work in Tulum or Yucatán
we are not asking them to decorate a wall
we are inviting them to let the place rewrite their way of seeing.

Long before phones and fast tourism,
Stephens and Catherwood crossed the peninsula with notebooks, paper, and time.

The writer kept a travel diary.
The artist spent days and weeks drawing ruins in Uxmal, Chichén, and many other sites
so carefully that you can still feel the heat and the stone inside those lines.

For us at Tulum Art Club,
their journey is a reminder that art can be a way to arrive in a place,
not just to name it.

When we invite artists to work in Yucatán today,
we are asking for the same thing:
walk slowly,
look closely,
let the territory redraw your hand. 🌿

Collecting art does not have to start with a big decision.
It can start with one print you truly want to live with.
Choose it by feeling.
Give it one wall.
Let it be the first piece that changes the mood of your space.
If you want help choosing
send us a photo of your wall and the vibe you want to feel at home.
We will recommend a few prints from our selection.
DM us for the catalog. Link in bio. 🌿

Tulum is more than parties.
These walls hold another story.
A story made of jungle light, salt air, town dust, rituals, laughter, and the quiet work of showing up.

We finally put our mural archive in one place.
It begins in 2012 with imperfect photos and real energy. Some images are blurry and that is part of it. Time leaves texture.
If you are in Tulum, use this as a small invitation.
Walk. Look up. Find a wall.
Tag us if you visit one, we would love to see what you discover.

Art history is not only about museums. Sometimes it is a communist painter in jail,
a stubborn businessman and a city that keeps changing around a single building.

Polyforum Siqueiros in Mexico City is a reminder that a mural can be more than an image on a wall, it can be a place you walk into
a clash of visions and a promise that refuses to disappear.

Time Gate is one of those projects we still carry in the body.

Together with AEC Interesni Kazki and Holistika we watched this piece grow from bare structure to a full portal in the jungle. First the tunnel was built, like a quiet shell waiting for its story. Then came more than a month of painting every surface with acrylic and ink, under the trees, day after day, letting characters, planets, plants and people slowly appear.

For us, the magic was in the rhythm. Time moved different out there long days that felt soft, almost elastic. Which connects perfectly with the heart of the piece this idea that time changes depending on where and how you live it city rush, small town pace, jungle silence.
If you come to Tulum, walk the Art Walk at Holistika and give yourself a moment to cross Time Gate slowly. It is a mural, but it is also a passage.

We are excited to share the first three artists confirmed to walk with Tulum Art Club in this new stage.

Celeste Byers paints large scale scenes where nature, people and a quiet cosmic energy live together. Her murals feel like portals where plants, oceans and everyday life become something slightly more dreamlike.

Margot, known as is a French artist based in Tulum whose work often moves with animals, feminine energy and the jungle around us. Her lines are soft but clear, like whispers carved onto walls.

Brothers of Light are an artist duo whose work feels like a conversation between city walls and childhood memory. Bold colors, playful figures and symbols that move like graffiti and storytelling at the same time.

Soon we will share how each of them will inhabit our spaces between town, jungle and sea.

Grateful to have them as part of this next chapter in 2026!

At Tulum Art Club, there is no single way to arrive.
But there is a clear way to collaborate.
We work with artists through three paths.

1. Direct invitations
Some artists are invited by us.
These collaborations usually start with a specific project, a long-term interest, or a strong alignment with our program.
Often, a commissioned mural or project becomes the starting point, and the residency grows from there.

2. Artists already on the move
Many artists find us while traveling through Mexico or planning a trip to the region.
They stay with us, produce work, develop editions, and connect with our network of collectors, hotels and real estate projects.
This path works best for artists who are open to collaboration and continuity.

3. Self-funded residencies
Some artists choose to come intentionally.
They want time, space, support and local connection.
We help them produce work, understand the context, connect with the community and build visibility through our platforms.
This option is ideal for artists looking for a break, focus, or a new chapter.

What matters most is not how you arrive.
It’s how you work once you’re here.
Right now, the artists we collaborate with the most are those who are open, flexible and production-oriented.
Artists who can move between murals and gallery work.

Artists who understand that a residency is not just a stay, but a moment to build presence, leave work behind and grow together.
If you’re looking for more than a short visit,
if you want your work to live beyond one wall or one post, this might be the right place for you.

Our studio in Valladolid sits right in front of La Candelaria church.

Upstairs is the residency space a calm studio where artists work, rest and slowly weave Yucatán light into their pieces. Downstairs our gallery and restaurant open to the park, sharing that process with neighbors, friends and anyone passing through.

This spot is part of the circuit we offer to artists together with Tulum and the beach different energies, one same thread between art, land and community.

A new piece just joined the Art Walk at Holistika Tulum
For this small corner Jesús Verdhe kept it simple and strong, a compact wall with lines that feel like movement held in pause. It is not the biggest mural in the space, but it carries a clear pulse, like a little energy point along the jungle path.

If you walk through Holistika, take a moment to find it, stand close and see how it shifts with your distance and the light of the day.
