Here is a gofundme where you can donate to help stop the imminent threat of the 4th pier : destruction by construction of massive piers on the Villa Blanca Reef tract of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.

Time is running out to stop this devastating project! Your support will help to get an accurate environmental survey and map the wildlife, corals, and endangered/protected species of the endangered Villa Blanca Reef to defend it with an honest report and account of what is at stake. Zoe (photo by volunteer Casey Carr 🙏🏽) is located there and for years this area has been a focus of coastal biodiversity recovery through Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program Living Sea Sculpture Sand Dollar Sports Dive Cozumel CIMAC AC. It is also one of the last public free beaches and spaces for locals, divers and snorkelers, and sunset watchers to enjoy the ocean, not to mention all the protection, livelihoods, clean water, resources, and food it provides to the small island and all its inhabitants. Threats of new cruise piers directly through Villa Blanca Reef, where we acfively do coral restoration to the already endangered ecosystem in one of the last publicly accessible dive and snorkel zone. These are massive cruise piers taking from the island, not sustainable or helpful to the island inhabitants. It is grave damage to the reef and efforts to save them.

This property development on the ocean is very close to where Zoe - A Living Sea Sculpture and the Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program is located. It's just a quick walk to the north and currently a public access beach with quite a lot of corals and marine life in need of protection from megaprojects like this. Please share and do what you can to protect the endangered reef, mangroves, jungle, and health of the island humans!

It's that time of year! Coral spawning season. The endangered Acropora palmata has spawned on the Yucatán peninsula, and 🤞🏽😅 tonight there will be gametes released by the elkhorn corals on Cozumel island during this window of annual reproduction following the full moon.
👏🏽amazing, dedicated collective effort to help keep coral reefs alive.
