CAN’T GET NO
by Tiny Domingos and Benjamin Zuber

Inspired by Mathias Goeritz’s RUTA de la AMISTAD -a series of 22 monumental sculptures created for the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico-, this project extends his vision of global artistic friendship. It adds a focus on empathy, health, and social harmony through participatory art. Studies show art visitors become more open and tolerant—a key idea behind this work. New sculptures will interact with the existing RUTA pieces. Benjamin Zuber’s “parasite” sculptures let visitors press a button to express satisfaction. High tones signal joy, low tones discontent. The gathered data changes hourly and shapes a live performance. Tiny Domingos transforms these results into a playful data landscape.

Tiny Domingos
Born in Orléans, lives in Berlin, studied at the University of Lisbon. Explores geology, hybridism, AI, and planetary health. Exhibited at Bozar, KW Berlin, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, and TRACK16 Los Angeles.

Benjamin Zuber
Studied in Nuremberg, Vienna, and Karlsruhe; based in Berlin. Shows at Pinakothek der Moderne, Neues Museum Nuremberg, and Museum Penzberg. Works intermedially, exploring tension between humor, pathos, and authenticity.

TO BE ANNOUNCED

El Hub, Mesones No. 86
Centro Historico, Cuauhtemoc, 06090 Mexico City

Exhibition opening: Friday October 23, 2025, 6 to 10 pm
Opening hours: 2 to 6 pm

Fourteen posters announcing fourteen individual solo presentations - the
same duration, the same location: El Hub, an exhibition space in Mexico
City. The Berlin project space Axel Obiger presents TO BE ANNOUNCED, a
series of fourteen distinct visions that explore ways of inhabiting a
space and activating it as a site for ideas. The act of announcement
itself assumes a performative dimension, constituting an initial gesture
through which reality begins to form.

The posters, all printed locally, are displayed side by side on an equal
footing. They visualize the core concept of Axel Obiger as a
collectively organized, democratically structured initiative grounded in
the individual artistic practices of its members. The posters are
accompanied by a social media campaign that further extends the
exhibitions performative assertion of reality.

Building bridges

B-LA CONNECT understands itself as an international cultural exchange on a grass-roots level. It brings together members of different art spheres and scenes from both cities. New opportunities for interacting and connecting with each other are created and extended locally inside and transnationally between the two cities.

In the sense of a positive globality B-LA CONNECT seeks to advance the cultural partnership between Berlin and Los Angeles. B-LA CONNECT wants to celebrate urban diversity, show presence and stand against reactionary forces. Berlin and Los Angeles share the urban self-image of being the world in small, a place of cultural diversity and individual freedom. In light of the rising authoritarian and regressive currents worldwide the two cities stand for a liberal and cosmopolitan openness towards the world.

B-LA CONNECT wants to build bridges where others erect walls.
