Amanda Ziemele is part of Manifesta 16 Ruhr with her work Curious One St. Marien, Essen, on view until October 4, 2026. Her practice remains open to different explorations, drawn to the formal qualities of painting and how context and form interact with one another. Ziemele works with site-specific settings that trigger associations, giving rise to interventions shaped by the particularities of each space.

'Alemania en la Colección Franz Mayer' brings together works by Robert Janitz and Gregor Hildebrandt, alongside a remarkable selection of pieces collected by Franz Mayer — silverware, books, and decorative objects from Germany — presented in honor of the museum's 40th anniversary and as a tribute to its founder.

The exhibition is open until December 31, 2026, Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm, at Av. Hidalgo 45, Centro Histórico. Tickets are available on the museum's official website.

We are delighted to announce our representation of german artist Alexander Wertheim, with great enthusiasm for the work ahead together.

Since his first public appearance in 2022, Wertheim has presented several exhibitions, including, Sunsets (König Galerie, Berlin, 2023), April 2024 (Saenger Galería, Mexico City, Mexico, 2024, Shift Towards Coincidence (Alzueta Gallery, Casavells, Spain, 2025), and October 2025 (Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro, México, 2025). His current exhibition, Fugue in Oxide, is on view at König Galerie, Berlin.

Our Project Room is currently showcasing the exhibition 'Andar es ver' by Claudia Luna & Benjamín Torres.

Claudia Luna (Mexico City, 1988) and Benjamín Torres (Mexico City, 1969) have developed artistic practices that find in walking and everyday observation fundamental tools of inquiry. Their journeys through Mexico City transform the experience of urban transit into an exercise in the critical reading of space. Luna and Torres shift the emphasis of their processes toward an ongoing interpretation of the city as a territory of experience, conflict, and the formation of subjectivity.

Janitz’s figures neither affirm nor deny. Yet their eloquent napes seem steadfastly poised at the edge of another plane of reality, observing. More membranes than borders, these figures seen from behind do not merely withhold the face; they theatricalize the act of looking as a gesture charged with ontological risk. In one way or another, directing one’s gaze—or turning to look—has always been a dangerous activity. Orpheus learned this in Greek mythology when he descended into the underworld to rescue his beloved Eurydice after her death by snakebite. Despite Hades’s explicit warning not to look at her until they had completely emerged, he turned to see whether she was following him, causing her disappearance and condemning her forever to the realm of the dead. So too did Lot’s wife, who, according to Genesis, was turned into a pillar of salt after looking back to witness the destruction of S***m and Gomorrah while fleeing. What happens when we are seen by “the other”?

irak morales holds an uncommon control over attention. He knows where to look. He knows when to stop.
La santa trenza holds something else: it knows what happens when no one is looking. It knows what space does on its own. It knows that the crack in the asphalt was already a drawing before the paint arrived.
Together — irak morales and la santa trenza, the strands that take turns passing over and under — they constitute a practice that cannot be understood from a single angle, because it was made precisely to escape that. The signal that unsettles into an astonishing perception of the world is not in the most visible place. It is in the interstice. It is in the moment when he sits down, closes his eyes, and la trenza keeps working on its own.
No hay que coger el coco.
What we locate as the artwork of irak morales is merely a record of this mystery.

La estación de metro Universidad, uno de los principales puntos de movilidad para estudiantes, familias y habitantes del sur de la Ciudad de México ha sido inaugurada con la obra de Jorge Rosano Gamboa.
Las condiciones naturales y arquitectónicas del campus funcionan como referente conceptual para la obra de Jorge. Sus piezas exploran y vinculan la transformación del paisaje y su memoria, así como los diálogos e integraciones entre las estructuras humanas y los relieves naturales.
Tomando como base el lema de la UNAM, Jorge busca expandir el espíritu a través del saber. Su obra activa una cartografía de la mirada que transforma los registros geológicos en un profundo cuestionamiento estético sobre nuestra permanencia en el espacio y sobre todo aquello que ya no está con nosotros.

The Metro Universidad station, one of the main transit points for students, families, and residents of southern Mexico City, has been inaugurated with a work by Jorge Rosano Gamboa.
The natural and architectural conditions of the campus serve as a conceptual reference for Jorge's work. His pieces explore and connect the transformation of landscape and its memory, as well as the dialogues and integrations between human structures and natural landforms.
Drawing on the guiding principle of UNAM, Jorge seeks to expand the spirit through knowledge. His work activates a visual cartography that transforms geological records into a profound aesthetic questioning of our permanence in space and of everything that is no longer with us.

Continuing the collaboration they presented in "Plus One (+1)", the group exhibition on the occasion of Saenger Galería's seventh anniversary, artists Claudia Luna (1988) and Benjamín Torres (1969) have developed the show "Andar es ver" Designed especially for the Project Room at Saenger Galería, the exhibition by Luna and Torres delves into the encounters, crossings, displacements, discoveries, and reflections that their research and creative processes share as they wander through Mexico City — the place where both live and carry out their artistic practice in constant negotiation with their context. This project also offers a brief account of the artists' trajectories while projecting an anthology of stories about everyday life in one of the world's most vast, bustling, and complex metropolises.

Robert Janitz (Alsfeld, Germany, 1962) studied Art History and Sanskrit at the University of Marburg. A lecturer in Paris for over a decade, he began his exhibition career in 1996 and has since presented more than thirty solo shows in cities such as Berlin, New York, London, Los Angeles, and Mexico City. His debut on the Latin American art scene took place with the exhibitions Best of all worlds at Casa Gilardi (2021) and Janitz at Anahuacalli at Museo Anahuacalli (2022). His work has been featured in international publications such as Contemporary Painting (Thames & Hudson, 2021) and Painting Now (Thames & Hudson, 2015), and is held in notable collections including the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Amorepacific Museum of Art Seoul, the Collezione Maramotti, and the Hall Art Foundation. Represented by Canada gallery (NY), König (Berlin and Seoul), Sevil Dolmaci (Istanbul), and Saenger Galería (Mexico City), Janitz has been based in Mexico City since 2020.
