I enjoyed hanging out last night for the First Tuesday Artists of Merida potluck. The group is packed with several weekly events to bring artists together through workshops, shared studio time, and gallery tours that help keep the creative community connected. I discovered the group 3 years ago and I am so grateful for the way they have embraced me and my work. It is so important to connect with other creatives in the communities we create in and I am honored to be part of such a supportive circle.

Finding this crown means recognizing the majesty hidden within the grit.

This wood, brass, stone and copper beauty is headed to the gallery at Arte Bacchanal. The charm was built entirely from salvaged items I discovered while walking South Side neighborhoods in Mérida. It feels right to take what the neighborhood gave me and give it back as art.

Art knows no borders 🇲🇽. I’m thrilled to show my work in a gallery in Mexico for the first time!

My piece, a wood sculpture titled "Layers of Her," explores the many complex layers that make up a woman. I’m honored to be part of this collaborative show alongside so many outstanding artists for "Who Is Your Muse?". There is such a powerful energy in this collective tribute to the women who inspire us and I am so grateful to be in the mix.

Dear Granny,

It’s me. I just wanted to check in with you and let you know how I’m really doing. I’m more sensitive than usual and need gentleness right now. Granny, please wrap me in calm and protection.

Foolish energy is circulating. Please keep me steady and untouched by it.

I’m making space for self-care all while figuring out how to stay balanced with family, work and relationship building.

I need your guidance. Help me stay true to myself. Help me slow down when I need to, and be brave when it’s time to move forward. Remind me that I don’t have to rush or prove anything. Just listen and trust my own knowing.

Please keep our family close too. We’re carrying more than we let on, and we need help staying intact. I don't want us to lose one another. 🙏🏾
