FISURA is a performance exercise we created alongside Canadian artist Cindy Baker in Alma (Quebec, 2024) during the Rencontre internationale d'art performance / RIAP. This year, we transformed that audiovisual documentation into a video performance piece, which has been selected to screen across all venues of the Muestra Dislocada/Dislocated 2026. Rejoining this international exhibition alongside an artist of Cindy’s integrity is a profound joy. That day, she welcomed our company, driving us toward our destination to the rhythm of folk-country music, and agreed to the idea of cracking and eating eggs. Searching for a space to action, we stumbled upon the foundational bridge of Alma—a town we longed to visit due to the resonance its name holds for us. And there, in a single take, the action found its place. At the end of the day, on the drive back, the road forced us to a sudden halt: a giant of the forest crossed the highway, entering our reality through a rift. That suspended moment, that warning from the road, reminded us of the strength of vulnerability and defense without aggression; just raw presence and conviction. This is what this project is made of. Grateful, here we are, and here we move forward.
