I attended the exposition of Brian O'Neal and Liliana on Saturday and was surprised at the showing. Two floors of art filled the walls. There was something for everyone to enjoy, from collage to rich oils and acrylics. The event was well attended and the large group of attendees were treated with a DJ playing soft background music on the patio, free drinks and food prepared on-site (which disappeared quickly even though the tables were refilled continuously.) The artist, author, and writer for La Jornada Morelos, Miguel Ángel Izquierdo Sánchez treated us with his opening speech and his lovely wife assisted visitors with explanations of the various works on display.
Among the attendees was a mix of artists, graphic designers, including Alejandro Aranda, the well-known Cuernavaca artist for his many genres, covering etchings, oil paintings, serigraphy, tempera, watercolors, and murals. Also in attendance were the rotulist, Jesus and his artist wife Ana who owns the restaurant Izquitl (soon to be reopening in a new and improved location). The number of artists in attendance says a lot, as anytime artists show interest in an exposition, it is always a good sign of recognition.
It turned out to be quite the evening and I was certainly glad that I attended. And, of course, I look forward to the next exposition. Anyone who has not yet met Liliana, is in for a treat from this lovely, and exceptionally bubbly personality. Always smiling and in a contagiously happy mood. And, of course Brian can handle almost any subject thrown at him. Always a treat to be among great people.
