Photography Tomas has trekked the Himalayas and the Andes. His work has been on exhibit in his own gallery in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the last 15 years.

As a dedicated photographer for over 30 years, Tomas Spangler’s work encompasses his travels in a multitude of countries and countless unforgettable stories. Receiving a 35mm Rangefinder camera as a high school graduation gift opened the doors to a new found passion and lead him into remote villages, lofty mountains, roaring rivers, and ancient cities. Between Photography Programs at Kansas State

College and Orange Coast College in Newport Beach, California, Tomas found his footing in the field of photography and soon took off to photograph the world. His talent has awarded him work with numerous publications and large Corporations, including National Geographic, Baja Life, Popular Science, Solar Age, and Ford Motor Company. Tomas has always been drawn to subjects that offer an interesting juxtaposition of shapes, textures and colors, and the potential to make an image extraordinary. When the moment presents itself he also savors the ability to capture a touch of surrealism. That’s why, for Tomas, there is no greater country to explore visually than Mexico.

This photo was taken early in my career, on the Caribbean side of Mexico not far from Belize. I spent the night on the end of it where I saw for the first time the Southern Cross Constellation.
