🎸 REMEMBERING BOB BOGLE
January 16, 1934 – June 14, 2009
On this day in 2009, the world of instrumental Rock ’n’ Roll lost Robert Lenard “Bob” Bogle, co-founder of The Ventures.
Together with Don Wilson, Bob formed the band in Tacoma in 1958, helping to create one of the most recognizable and influential guitar sounds in music history. His unforgettable lead guitar work on “Walk, Don’t Run” became a landmark of instrumental rock, inspiring generations of musicians around the world.
Bob later moved to bass, remaining a fundamental part of The Ventures’ unmistakable sound and extraordinary legacy. In 2008, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
His guitar may have fallen silent, but the music of Bob Bogle continues to travel across the generations.
Forever remembered. Forever a Venture.
