THINGS THAT YOU MUST REMOVE ON YOUR CV
1. Marital Status and Number of Children
Why remove it? It’s personal information that has no bearing on job performance.
✓Keep it out unless explicitly asked for in some job applications ( which is rare).
2. Religion and Tribe
Why remove it? These can lead to bias or discrimination. Morden employers typically don’t need this information.
✓Only include if the job is related with a religious institution or NGO where religion or tribe is directly relevant.
3. Outdated Objective Statement
Why remove it? Generic objectives like “I am a hardworking and self-motivated individual…” don’t add value to the morden professional CV.
✓Replace with a Professional Summary or profile that is in line with the job. E.g explain what you have done in relation to the job you are applying for.
4. Hobbies & Interests (Unrelated Ones)
Why remove it? Many hobbies don’t contribute to your professional image.
✓Include only if they show leadership, teamwork, volunteering, or are directly relevant to the role.
4. Unnecessary Educational Details
Why remove it? Primary school and early certificates are not usually relevant. They just make your CV long.
✓ Include only highest relevant qualifications (e.g., diploma, degree, or MSCE if it happens to be your highest qualification).
