🌍🏔️ International Mountain Day, Celebrating Mulanje, Our World Heritage Giant
Mulanje is more than a mountain,
it is a living system, a keeper of stories, a guardian of culture,
and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It shapes our climate.
Feeds our rivers.
Protects biodiversity.
Inspires our youth.
Anchors our identity.
But it is also vulnerable.
From deforestation to climate threats, the signs are clear:
our mountain needs us now more than ever.
At Mulanje Peaks & Rhythms Festival, we work around this landscape, feeling its beauty, understanding its pressure, and celebrating its power through culture, youth innovation, music, and community engagement.
Today, on International Mountain Day, we honor:
📌The communities who call Mulanje home
📌The elders and storytellers who keep its heritage alive
📌The guides, porters, artists, and youth who carry its spirit
📌 And everyone fighting to protect this mountain for generations to come
Mulanje is not just a mountain. It’s a rhythm.
Mulanje moves us. Mulanje inspires us. Mulanje unites us.
May we continue to climb, create, conserve, and celebrate this legacy today and every day. 🌍✨
