When I released my first spoken word album, Down the Rivers (2020), there was a piece where I accepted the complicated relationship I had with my girlfriend.

In 2023, when my second album came out, my girl and I had just broken up. I included Beauties of a Monster, a piece that owned my mistakes and how I ended things out of goodwill.

Later in 2024, I released the Palms and Trees EP, which featured Unveil the Mask, a piece that revealed just how hard life felt without her.

In 2025, my third spoken word album carried All My Exes Should Thank Me, a piece that appreciated my breakups and heartbreaks, acknowledging how they worked out for the good of my exes and myself.

Now, in 2026, I’m preparing to release a single titled "After the Show".

For years, I haven’t really been a relationship person. I poured my focus into my creative journey and personal development. I counted every loss as a win, because at the end of the day, I was with the person I believed I needed most, myself.

But it’s been years now, and the distance is starting to feel heavy. The loneliness is constant. I find myself asking, is this everything I worked for?

2025 was everything. This was the year I switched workplaces, and it wasn’t easy especially the part where I had to leave without pay. Someone I deeply look up to advised me to accept what had happened, focus on switching lanes, and use my energy to make progress. I listened. And I turned out just fine.

This year, I learned never to take things personally. I kept reminding myself that it could have been anybody. You see, how you react to things is everything. I knew I needed that lesson. It helped me resist the urge to start on a high note. Instead, I started from the trenches. It wasn’t simple, but it taught me every lesson I needed and, professionally, made me wiser.

When you have so much invested in moving forward, it becomes hard to sit back and cry. This year has been great. I’ve had my lows and downs, my losses and setbacks but come on, I survived. And perhaps more than that, I lived. I understood life as an opportunity, and I took my chances.

Looking forward to 2026.
