SACRIFICING FOR GOD.
Those who made their offerings out of abundance were not praised so it was witnessed in Jesus' time. And so history repeated itself after hundreds of years since the ascension of Christ to heaven.
Last Saturday, Muonekera SDA Central Church where I congregate in Lilongwe had a similar cause where members gave their offerings towards the building of the church at its finishing level.
One woman in the picture surprised the congregation when she was called by the the Church Pastor, Mr Thawatha in front.
The woman whose name was unveiled as Mrs Kafoteka on introduction, does her trade by hurling sand and selling it. She is an old woman and this time she thought of doing something different.
She had collected the amount of sand shown in the image using her tin on her head to heap that amount of sand at the church as her offering.
The pastor was amazed with this exceptional generosity emanating from this old woman to the work of God.
The man of God had separately prayed for her in the presence of the whole church recommending her for this wonderful contribution.
The journey to heaven is a wonder on its own. Am equally amazed that we still have some people even at an old age, who commit themselves to the work of God with this magnitude.
