"Haiyboaraahi – the seven-headed folklore beast." — Radheef

The name Haiyboaraahi can be broken down into "Haiy-boa," meaning seven-headed, and "Raahi," thaana (Dhivehi) word for the zodiac.

There isn't any confirmed historical evidence explaining why the name includes raahi, but it's an interesting detail that makes you wonder. Could Haiyboaraahi have meant something more than just a giant, terrifying creature?

The true origin of the name remains unknown, and that's part of what makes Maldivian folklore so fascinating. Stories passed down through generations often change over time, leaving us with hints and mysteries rather than clear answers.

This artwork is an interpretation of Haiyboaraahi, inspired by the incredible creativity of Kulhudhuffushi Dhahsoora "Eid Maali," where the legendary creature was brought to life using fan (woven palm leaves). Events like these are a tribute to the imagination, craftsmanship, and storytelling traditions that continue to keep Maldivian folklore alive.

Throwback to the 75th Anniversary logo created for State Electric Company Limited (STELCO), commemorating 75 years of powering communities.

The design features a bold, flat interpretation of the number 75, inspired by a flowing sine wave, a visual reference to energy, connectivity, and utility services. STELCO's signature brand colors were integrated to represent its core services: red for electricity, blue for water, and yellow for sewerage.

A central wave cut flows through the mark, creating balance between the three colors while symbolizing the utility network that connects and serves islands across the nation. The identity was designed with flexibility in mind, allowing it to adapt seamlessly from digital icons and printed materials to large-scale signage and 3D installations.

A simple mark with a deeper story, celebrating a legacy of service, innovation, and connection.
