9 incredible years! Happy Anniversary Steamroller Animation! 🎉🎈
Steamroller Animation is now 9 years young🥳 🎉
To celebrate this amazing milestone here are 9 things to know about Steamroller⬇️
1️⃣ In 2009 co-founders Adam Meyer and Keith Lackey made the game “Super Shock Football”🏈 Co-founder, Jalil Sadool joined later on to help out with camera animation.
2️⃣ The next game "Deadwood" took 5 years of side hustling before the team quit their jobs and started a brick and mortar studio in 2014 in Eustis, FL.
3️⃣ Our first studio was in the back of a shirt shop that had so many leaks we had to get buckets out every time it rained. Talk about humble beginnings 😅
4️⃣ Our third studio was in a church and we would ring the giant bell when someone wrapped a project 🔔
5️⃣ Spice Frontier’s original name was "Spice Planet" and it was meant to be an adventure game. Now we're making the pilot episode of what we hope will one day become a successful animated series!
6️⃣ Although based in Mount Dora, we have a global & remote workforce; including a physical studio based in Mauritius.
7️⃣ Besides the founders, we still have our first 2 employees with us, James Mashock and Amanda Renfroe. In fact out of our first 16 hires between 2014 and 2016 13 are still here today 😊
8️⃣ We recently developed an internal Animation Feedback Training program for new Leadership to practice giving creatively professional feedback to Animators.
9️⃣ With 200+ talented team members in 37 countries🌎 We are now one of the largest animation studios on the U.S. east coast.
