Team Mauritius – Nations Cup 2026, Gibraltar 🇲🇺

What an incredible tournament held in a magnificent venue in Gibraltar. Our sincere thanks go to the Gibraltar Pool Association, especially Jonathan Collado and his dedicated team, for their outstanding hospitality and flawless organisation.

We also extend our gratitude to the European BlackBall Association (EBA) for the invitation and for facilitating all the necessary arrangements to ensure our players could travel safely and participate in this prestigious event.

For only our second participation at the Nations Cup, Team Mauritius delivered a commendable performance. Although we did not qualify for the quarter-finals or playoffs, the team showed great determination and spirit throughout the competition. Team B secured 8 victories, while Team A added 4 wins—an achievement we can be proud of.

Our players performed exceptionally well both on and off the table, earning the respect of their opponents and gaining valuable experience from competing against top international talents. This exposure will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of blackball pool in Mauritius.

Special thanks to the Team Manager of Mauritius, Mrs. Varsha Kumar, and our two respective captains Shameet Dewnarain and Kavesh Nemdharry for leading their respective team.

We are deeply grateful to our local and international supporters who stood behind Team Mauritius in every match. Special thanks to the players’ families, friends, and fans who supported us from day one until the very end.

Sunday, 17 May 2026 (Start at 9:00 AM sharp)

1st Round to Last 16: Best of 7 frames

Quarter-finals: Best of 9 frames

Wednesday, 20 May 2026 (7:30 PM)

Semi-finals: Best of 13 frames

Final: Best of 19 frames

⏱️ Important Rules

Matches will begin at 9:00 AM sharp

A loss of frame penalty will be applied for every 5 minutes of lateness

The tournament draw will be available at least one week before the event

👔 Dress Code

Allowed: Casual smart (jeans, shirts, polo shirts, sports or classic shoes)

Not allowed: Shorts, caps, sandals, or any attire deemed unsuitable or inconvenient for the game

Players not complying with the dress code will not be allowed to participate.
Any player found under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs will also be disqualified from participation.

Medical Exception:
Players with medical conditions affecting dress code must inform the organizers in advance. Supporting documentation (medical certificate) may be required, and approval will be at the organizers’ discretion.

Winner: Optima Pool Table + Champion Trophy

Runner-up: Rs 7,500 + Trophy

Semi-finalists: Rs 2,500 each

Quarter-finalists: Rs 1,000 each

We've shown good fighting and team spirit, played some good games but gutted to have lost against Golden Star Pool Club - ex Sahai Pool Club in a very tensed showdown in the Coupe De Maurice, National team event.

Congratulations to them and best of luck for the rest of the tournament.

A big thank you to all our followers and fans for your support and to the organisers for this one of its kind event which will surely boost the interest of the game nationwide.
