Dr. Herbert Conrad will be remembered as a pioneer in the teaching of German in Malta. In the 1970s, when German was first introduced into Maltese schools, he played a central role in shaping its development. He was responsible for establishing and promoting the teaching of German as a foreign language in State schools, as well as at the German-Maltese Circle.
