Meet Marta Vella, our Festival Artistic Director and one of the creative forces behind ŻiguŻajg!

Since 2020, Marta has been shaping the ŻiguŻajg journey, bringing big ideas, bold creativity and brilliant artists to young audiences.
A writer, director and performer working between Malta 🇲🇹 and the UK 🇬🇧, Marta’s creative adventures have taken her from RADA and the stages of London to directing, writing and creating work right here at home.

She’s all about imagination, collaboration and making theatre that sticks with you.

The ŻiguŻajg Children’s Advisory Board (CAB) returns for the 2026 edition and is looking for curious and creative children aged 7–12 to join a hands-on creative programme inspired by this year’s theme: Dream. Dare. Do.✨

Meet artists, architects, designers and makers. 🎨Get creative through hands-on workshops💡 Share your ideas and help shape the festival exhibition🤝 Collaborate, experiment and make something together.

Ready to take the stage?

Minor Offenders is a stand-up comedy course for young people aged 10–13, led by comedian Steve Hili.

Participants will learn to write their own original material, build confidence, and perform in a live showcase as part of ŻiguŻajg Festival.

Applications are now open, and they close on the 22nd of August.

Last Saturday, their teacher introduced them to the art of clay modelling. With plenty of creativity and imagination, they sculpted their own clay creatures or maybe even some new friends! 😊

Last Saturday, we started getting creative at the ŻiguŻajg Art Jam - Summer Bootcamp 🤩

The little artists got to know one another during their very first workshop by creating their very own art journals 🎨📖 These will soon be filled with their ideas & drawings during their next workshops!!
