A big thank you to all those who joined us yesterday for the book launch of Jacques Borg Barthet's debut poetry collection 'eight sixes' published by Kotba Calleja.

's poetry is a meandering exploration of human nature observed from a position of stillness. His imagery is nuanced, his language elegant and the book is bursting with unforced emotional depth.

I wrote most of these poems between the ages of 40 and 50. So, most of the poems are about the tussle of coming to terms with evolving self while balancing a million demands, and the search for ‘truth’ and ‘beauty’ and joy in the chinks of the walls of
to-do lists.
