🔴Rachel Abdilla is a visual artist working across videography, photography, and filmmaking. Her thesis project, a documentary short film titled Between Us, explores embodied documentary through the relationship between filmmaker and subject as sisters, examining how physical presence, intimacy, and shared experience transform representation and the filmmaking process itself. Through immersive practice, the project investigates familial connection, perspective, and emotional exchange.

Her dissertation, Cultural Identities Through Pixel Art: A Retro Fighting Game Concept, explores respectful cultural representation through original fighting game characters inspired by international cultures. Using semiotics, limited palettes, sprites, backgrounds, and interface design, the project culminates in a promotional trailer inspired by classic arcade attract modes.
