GĦAQDA FILANTROPIKA TALENT MOSTI
AND THE MARQUIS MALLIA TABONE FARMHOUSE
The Għaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti (Mosta Talent Philantropic Society) is an NGO whose main aim is to organise various activities with a philanthropic goal. This Society, nestled in the heart of Mosta and powered by a number of volunteers, offers a space for and helps coordinate the logistics to hold art exhibitions, book launches, public discussions, short theatrical productions and musical soirees, amongst other social events. Funds raised from such activities, membership and donations, are presented on an annual basis to individuals and associations in need of financial assistance. Since its inception in 1983, this Society has passed on proceeds in the form of donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund, Dar tal-Providenza, Puttinu Cares, Hospice Malta, Dar Bjorn and many more. Alongside our philanthropic mandate, at the Għaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti we aim to provide a space for budding and established artists, writers and poets to promote their works to members of the general public. Our activities also offer a communal space for people to get together socially to have exchanges on various aspects of art and culture in a friendly and welcoming environment. The venue for these activities is the Razzett tal-Markiż at Wied il-Għasel Road in Mosta. This 300-year-old rural farmhouse belonged to the Marquis Mallia Tabone. We strive to maintain the Razzett (farmhouse) in a tiptop manner to protect a very important piece of local architectural heritage embedded with antique charm. In the past 38 years the Għaqda Filantropika Talent Mosti Talent has been instrumental in promoting various expressions of popular culture, whilst instilling a sense of social solidarity. The hardworking volunteers, members and the thousands of Maltese and foreigners who regularly visit the Razzett are bound by interest in the arts and a communal sense of belonging. We invite you to pay a visit to our Razzett which is open on: Mon-Sat from 6pm to 8pm; Sun: from 10am - noon. Standing tall for Maltese folklore, the Razzett tal-Markiż houses two permanent exhibitions of typical tools, serving as a tribute to the Maltese manual work and manual worker, local art and artists. It is the meeting place of art, culture and philantropy. A picture speaks a thousand words, so we encourage you to follow this page, which is updated regularly with articles about future, current and previous events, as well as with photos of the various activities and a tour around the Razzett itself.
