int Andrew celebrated annually in Luqa by our society. As time went by, the art of fireworks continued to develop rapidly, and new techniques and methods were introduced to better manufacture fireworks in a safer environment. In 1965, a new fireworks factory was built and inaugurated. This was an important move towards higher quality, precision and originality in the manufacturing of fireworks. Many enthusiasts have spent their free time in these premises, and some have made great achievements too. Innocent Camilleri, Joseph Camilleri, Angelo & Felix Mizzi are just a few who gave their full energy to the improvements in manufacturing fireworks. At present, the Saint Andrew’s Fireworks Factory is considered to be one of the best in the Maltese islands. In April 2007 and again in May 2014, the factory placed first in the national ground fireworks competition which was held in Floriana, Malta. Only 7 days before winning the Ground Fireworks Festival for the second time, the factory won the National Fireworks Festival which was held in Bugibba. This makes the Saint Andrew Fireworks Factory the only Pyrotechnics group in Malta to win both National competitions in just under a week, as certified by Malta Records.
