Building up the layers of Duke’s dark coat

Good evening. This is Duke - a beloved family dog who was taken away suddenly and unexpectedly , leaving behind a lot of sorrow and pain. 🌈🐾💔

While nothing can fill the space he left behind, I hope his portrait will be a beautiful reminder of a much-loved boy who will never be forgotten. ❤️

Not even halfway there yet… ✏️❤️

I’m slowly building up the shadows and details on this beautiful large portrait, but there are still many, many hours of work ahead.

Every little detail matters — the subtle changes in colour, the depth in the shadows, the textures and all those tiny features that make a portrait feel truly lifelike. I want to give this piece all the time and attention it deserves.

And this is also a little glimpse into why my portraits are priced the way they are. Behind every finished piece are many hours of careful, patient work — something you don’t always see in the final photo. ❤️

Building jt slowly, slowly - layer by layer - really painstaking work and on my largest paper too!!

Sometimes I wonder why I didn’t stick to paints 😂😂😂
