Stratification invited participants to look beneath the surface of the Inquisitor’s Palace, attending to layers shaped by use, neglect and time. Led by Sheldon Saliba, the workshop unfolded through the Palace’s historic wells and surrounding spaces, positioning participants as archaeologists of the future tracing how objects, sediments and architectural traces register shifting human and ecological histories.

Reverberation unfolded as an embodied encounter with gesture, material and memory at the Inquisitor’s Palace. Led by Julian Micallef, participants engaged with As Black as Ink through hands-on experimentation with raw materials, exploring alternative 8mm film-developing processes where movement, matter and time became intertwined traces.

Drawing from the species referenced in Jacob Saliba’s Micro Biomes (Moving with the Wind, Like Waves), Indigikcina (Nicole Borg) and Damjan Attard led a conversation shaped by taste, memory and ecology.

Vestige centres on Wioletta Kulewska Akyel’s frottage works taken from the Palace’s cells. Drawing out roses, scratches and symbols of hope and resistance, her layered paintings and fresco fragments transform these marks into a renewed visual language, showing how traces of suffering and resilience continue to endure.
