Celebrating creativity through everyday forms.

Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro turned the humble cabbage into one of his most iconic creations. Wrinkled, layered, and rustic, the cabbage became a quiet metaphor for a Portugal he often observed with irony and affection. By placing it at the center of the table, he elevated something simple into an object of presence and beauty.

Today, the Cabbage collection remains a timeless expression of that vision, appreciated across generations and still finding its place in every setting.

Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro (1846–1905) had a deep affection for cats, famously confessing that he believed he had been one in a past life. His own cats, Pili and Pires, inspired some of his most iconic ceramic pieces, including the “Hissing Cat” and “Hunting Cat,” capturing their elegance, mischief, and character.
