Bluesun Contemporary Art Center of Mongolia, established in 2002, is one of the country’s pioneering independent institutions dedicated to supporting contemporary artists and advancing contemporary art both nationally and internationally.
The Center develops curatorially driven exhibitions and programs that engage with social, cultural, and historical contexts, while fostering critical dialogue and artistic experimentation. Through long-term initiatives such as Art Camp, Best of Bluesun, Zuun Art, and Open Academy, Bluesun has established a sustainable platform to support artists’ development and international artistic collaboration.
Over the past two decades, Bluesun has collaborated with more than 1,000 local and international artists and curators across 120+ projects, and has played a key role in major cultural local events including the Ulaanbaatar Biennale and Ulaanbaatar Art Week. Committed to expanding the global visibility of Mongolian contemporary art, the Center has established partnerships with institutions in Germany, South Korea, Italy, and China, facilitating international exhibitions, residencies, and cross-cultural collaborations.
Bluesun Contemporary Art Center of Mongolia also serves as the organizer of the Mongolian National Pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale 2026 and a co-organizer of the Mongolia Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. In this capacity, the Center is responsible for project implementation, artist coordination, and international collaboration, contributing to the presentation of Mongolia’s contemporary art on one of the world’s most prestigious cultural platforms.
