Let’s let the love of God lead us to a lifestyle that runs away from sin instead of running to it. His grace and love are not an excuse to live in sin, but rather a call to live free from sin.

God wants to do more than just support you. He wants to transform you👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Acts 3:1-10
“One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.”

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Mathew 6:19-21
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

When we can learn to live from an eternal mindset, the way we live will begin to shift because your life is no longer about increasing yourself to be good enough- it becomes about living for the One who is enough.

We’re told time and time again from the world around us that loving ourselves fully and accepting ourselves is when we come to live a life of fulfillment. To an extent I agree, we need to learn to love ourselves not because of us, but because of who God us and who he created us to be.

But in reality I’ve come to learn I will never be able to fully and perfectly love myself the way I need because I am imperfect and only God can provide that type of love. People cannot fulfill you. That addiction can’t fulfill you. That relationship. That house. That job. These things cannot fulfill you because in the end, they mean nothing and we will give an account for our lives and how we lived for God and loved others.

Our society has become so self centered above all else, but as followers of Christ we are called to be selfless and love the least of these.

I think it’s easy for a lot of us to use “it’s a season of waiting” as an excuse to do nothing. Yes there are times to wait on the Lord, but when we wait on the Lord, we don’t sit and do nothing.

We continue to press into Gods Word and press into communion with Him so that when He moves, we are ready.

Those waiting times aren’t just times to wait, they’re times of preparation for what God has for you. But if you aren’t preparing in the waiting, God might just be waiting for you to be ready before He moves.

Preparing in the waiting shows a heart of expectancy towards the Lord. We prepare because we are expectant of the Lord to move.

Maybe God is waiting on you. Maybe God is waiting on you to come with a surrendered heart. Maybe God is waiting on your obedience. Maybe God is waiting on you to lay down your bitterness and hurt at his feet.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

His goodness doesn’t change even when your feelings and circumstances do.

James 4:4-8
Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?

Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”?

But he gives more grace.
Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Sin had tainted my name
Shame was a weight I held,
But Jesus came and met me at the well.

His light lifted the shadows I walked in.
I am no longer chained by sin.

I run in freedom as a witness
of his unfailing love.
I love the story of Jesus meeting the woman at the well in John chapter 4.

I feel like so many of us can relate so deeply to the shame she hid behind. Today we can hide behind our phones, but in reality a lot of us are hiding in the darkness of our sin.

What I love about Jesus is the he doesnt tell us to run and hide, he calls out to us and searches the depths of the seas to save our hurting hearts.

The human heart naturally run and hide. We see this from the beginning in Genesis with Adam and Eve who hid just as the woman at the well did.

But who told you to hide? Who told you to run? Surely, it was not God. Because in each of these stories Jesus calls them to the light and when there is light, darkness cannot exist.

God didn’t send His son to die for us so we could keep living in darkness. He came to set us free from the shame of our sins no matter where we’ve been.

I don’t want to like in darkness anymore and I think it’s time we decide to step into the light and freedom of Gods unfailing love and redeeming grace.

HE IS FAITHFUL - AGE TO AGE.

Its easy to believe God will fulfill His promise when we see it come to pass, but what if we don’t see it come to pass for months, years, will we still believe in Him to finish what he started and what he promised?

As I’ve been reading through Genesis, something that I love is that God constantly reminded Abram of His promise. It reveals to you God knows the human nature to forget and doubt.

God delivered Abram from his enemies and immediately after he doubts God’s ability to fulfill his promise once again.

I hate that I do the same thing over and over again. He fulfills, I praise him, and then I’m so quick to doubt and forget.

Often I forget his goodness when my circumstances aren’t good, but I’ve learned that my foundation and faith cannot be in the blessings of God, but rather in God himself.

He is who He says He is. He is faithful to His promises.

Now, I’m not a girl who enjoys history, but this blew my mind to see God’s promise stand true and is evident throughout history’s events.

God creates a covenant with Abram in Genesis 12: 1-3 saying “I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”

When we read this, God is promising this to not only Abram, but Abram’s lineage who becomes God’s chosen people.

It’s easy to read through this and not think much of it, but as I looked deeper into this, it blew my mind to see God’s promise has prevailed thousands of years from age to age.

God’s promises are proven throughout all of history and we see his faithfulness time and time again.

HERE AM I. SEND ME.

Passion 2022 was a reminder that was well needed in my life and thousands of others. The past months I’ve cowered in fear, Ive hidden in shame, and I’ve run from God as I’ve wrestled with believing in who He says He is.

I allowed doubt to lead. I allowed my problems to become greater than his promises. I allowed my pride to bring me to a place of a hardened heart towards God and others.

The pain of the brokenness of a fallen world became my reflection of God. In anger I screamed at God for the pain humanity caused me - for the pain of the consequences of my own sin. But I’ve come to learn God is Holy above all else.

There is no sin in Him nor can he sin against us. He is for us.

I lost perspective of who God was and was so focused on my problems around me that I nearly allowed them to take me away from my faith.

But I don’t want to run from God. I don’t want to hide in shame. I’m done creating excuses and I want a life of fellowship with He who is Holy above all else.

I will fail at times, but His grace and mercy is greater and I refuse to stop running. May the church of Christ pick up the Word of God - put on the armor of His Word- and let’s fight the good fight because our God is fully able.

Transformation comes through Christ.

In Acts 9 we read of the Saul’s conversion and transformation. Through his transformation many were led to Christ because the work that God had done was so unbelievable.

As Christians too many of us have stopped at conversion and not allowed God to transform our hearts. Saul was so transformed that some didn’t even believe it. I want Gods work within me to be so unbelievable to the world that God is the only believable answer to the transformation within me.

Through Him we are born again and made new. We continually have to decide to follow Him and commit to become more like him in all the we do. It is not the physical body being reborn again, it’s the spirit and soul being made new.

Many of us stop at conversion to get into heaven, but seek transformation. Allow God to transform the way you live and think, your perspective, and all that you do.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is -his good, pleasing and perfect will.
