This week we held an exhibition of Grade 9 and 10 art work. The work was produced as part of a unit of work which focused on Yangon and its fascinating architectural heritage. Here is a selection of some of the work on display.

Using Adaptive Schools techniques, Grade 9&10 students spent time examining IB sketchbooks so they could understand the different ways sketchbooks can be used. They identified media experiments, artist research, personal reflections and idea development. Now let's see what they can do in their own sketchbooks, watch this space!

This piece of work, by one of our talented grade 10 students, was selected to be exhibited at the 'World Cities Day' exhibition organized by Doh Eain the selection panel said. "we were greatly impressed by the creativity and quality of your submission." We are very proud!

Our Grade 8 students are working on a collaborative mural.This unit of work has focused on color mixing with paint, the students could only use the primary colors and white. To see what a great job they did, watch this space, it's nearly finished!

Yesterday, we held the first ISY Staff Art Exhibition. We certainly have some hidden talents in the school! Congratulations to all staff who participated, your work looked wonderful!

Just look at these! These are the sculptures the Grade 10 students made with our visiting artists. Aren't they great? We look forward to working with Pyae Hein Kyaw and Kyaw Swar Htet next academic year!

As part of the ‘My City’ unit of work local artist, Kyaw Swar Htet visited the Grade 10 art class to talk about his work and to give us a practical demonstration of his sculpture technique. We are so excited to be working with this incredibly talented artist. In the coming lessons he will be supporting our students to make their own sculptures. Watch this space for the results!

Yesterday, we were very proud to showcase the work of our Grade 12 IB Visual Art students. The IB exhibition is the culmination of two years hard work. And what a show it was! congratulations to our artists!

Great drawings can be done in 2 minutes! We are amazed at the work the Grade 9 artists can do in such a short amount of time.

Grade 9 students have made installation models to convey their ideas about some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They learned how art can be used to influence and promote action and how other artists have used art to highlight different causes. We are delighted with the final pieces!
