The 16th World Circus Day in 18 April 2026 has been celebrated broadly all over the World.
World Circus Day is the largest coordinated annual event of the international circus community.
This year addition showed a continued growth in decentralized community-led celebrations. There were about 480-600 registered events in more than 50 countries and massive social, online reach.
We calculate that the live attendance of the audience in the WCD’s programs was between 300 000-400 000.
The Fédération Mondiale du Cirque congratulates and thanks all participants and we are happy to share some nice photos documenting the joy and enthusiast of the Day.

World Circus Day Poster Competition 🎪

The members of the Global Alliance of Circus Schools are getting ready to celebrate World Circus Day 2026 by having participated for weeks in a poster competition expressing the joy and spirit of the circus.

We received more than 50 entries, and the Steering Committee of the organization had chosen three works for Special Mentioning coming from:
1️⃣ Circus Juventas (US)
2️⃣ Mini Mobile Circus for Children (Afghanistan)
3️⃣ China Acrobats Association (China)

CONGRATULATIONS BRAZIL!

Circus arts have reached a new level of respect in Brazil. On 11 March 2026 traditional circus was included into the national inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
