The SSSW - The Subsaharan Safe Space for Women SSSW is female/ q***r cultural safe space of sub saharan refugees located in Morocco.

The place is created to help the women express and overcome the social and cultural struggles as well as the stigma they seem to experience everyday

We've been trying so far to help some subsahanwomen that aren't capable to get a job due to covid crisis; but we couldn't save all the women that reached out to us.

Though much attention in recent years has focused on sub-Saharan Africans attempting to reach Europe, migration within West Africa is roughly nine times larger than movements from the region toward either Europe or neighboring North African countries. Morocco, which has seen its share of emigration and more recently become a springboard for other migrants on their way to Europe, has since the beginning of the 21st century become a default destination for many sub-Saharan migrants.

Progettomondo.mlal and CEFA have been present in Morocco since the beginning of the 2000s to make young people aware of the risks of irregular migration, making them responsible for their actions, as well as to promote the socio-cultural and economic integration of returning Moroccans. , vulnerable women and young people and migrants arriving in the country.

In recent years, Morocco has become a pole of migratory attraction for Moroccans returning home and for sub-Saharan populations.
The “I am a migrant” project fits into this context. It is co-financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented in the regions of Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Oriental.

The documentary, produced in 2019 by director Andrea D'Ambrosio, gives a voice to those who have received support during the creation of a cooperative with which to start a new and worthy future.
