Last week, UNHCR Maroc welcomed a group of exchange students from Teachers college, Columbia University university, for a presentation on UNHCR’s mandate, its work in Morocco, and the protection and inclusion of refugees. This session is part of a series of presentations organized to mark the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention, fostering dialogue and raising awareness among the next generation of leaders on refugee protection and the importance of international solidarity.

On World Refugee Day, UNHCR Maroc and UM6P signed a partnership agreement that reflects our shared commitment to expanding opportunities for refugees through education, innovation, and inclusion.

This milestone comes as we mark the 75th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention, a landmark instrument that continues to safeguard the rights and protection of refugees around the world.

Today’s celebration was also an opportunity to honor the courage, resilience, and contributions of refugees in Morocco and beyond. This year’s theme, “Until Everyone Is Safe,” reminds us that every refugee deserves the chance not only to find safety, but also to thrive and contribute to their communities.
