Some insights to our residency at Montpellier Danse in November 2023! 😃

🏠 [ 𝗦𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟯.𝟮𝟰 : 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗔 𝗟'𝗔𝗚𝗢𝗥𝗔 ]

𝗬𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗼𝘂𝗶 𝗜𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶 est un photographe, performeur et chorégraphe marocain. Il a été plusieurs fois champion du Maroc de breakdance et fonde un célèbre crew de hip hop marocain avec lequel il a voyagé et joué à l’international. Il a dirigé pendant plusieurs années le programme hip hop de l’espace culturel L’Uzine à Casablanca, où il a encadré et formé de jeunes danseurs hip hop.
𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁 est une danseuse, chorégraphe et chercheuse en danse allemande. Ayant grandi à Berlin-Kreuzberg, Frieda Frost a découvert la culture hip hop et la pratique du breakdance au début des années 2000. Elle a enseigné le breakdance dans des universités allemandes et donné des cours et des ateliers de danse dans des centres sociaux, des écoles et des écoles de danse.
👉 Tous deux influencés par la culture hip hop, ils fondent ensemble la compagnie Chara en 2022, installée entre le Maroc et l’Allemagne. Cie Chara

🏆 Lauréats du prix Taklif 2023 du festival "On marche"... Festival International de danse contemporaine à Marrakech, ils ont remporté une période de résidence à l'Agora et bénéficient du regard extérieur de Fabrice Ramalingom.

Lors de leur résidence à l'Agora, ils travaillent leur première pièce intitulée 𝙃𝙄𝙏 7𝘼𝙔𝙏 (𝘼 𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙙𝙪 𝙢𝙪𝙧) qui s’inspire de la ville de Casablanca, de ses habitants, des gestes et des chorégraphies de la vie quotidienne. À l'Agora, ils commencent également le travail de création d'une future pièce s'inspirant de la nature.

Les résidences à l'Agora sont soutenues par la Fondation BNP Paribas.
