“Kioske: Temporäre Architektur und soziale Lebenswelten an der albanischen Küste” is more than just a book — it is a visual and theoretical exploration of Albania’s turbulent architectural transformation. Edited by Robert Pichler, it brings together contributions from Albanian authors in architecture, art, ecology, and geography, paired with striking photography from 2015–2022.

From April 11 to 13, 2025, our teams from PNB Print and Veiters had the privilege of attending the Festival du Livre de Paris 2025 at the Grand Palais Éphémère, one of Europe’s preeminent book and publishing events .

The event gathered over 450 publishers, authors, designers, print professionals, and more, under the iconic glass dome of the Grand Palais . We immersed ourselves in panels, workshops, and creative showcases — from Moroccan literature and multilingual exchanges to discussions on adaptation and innovation in book formats .

Participating in international events like this is core to our mission: to stay ahead in printing and book production, forge partnerships, and continually update our expertise. Bookbinding began as pure function — stitching pages to protect and preserve. From hand-bound manuscripts to leather covers, early books were objects of care.

The printing press in the 15th century brought wider access, but bindings remained handcrafted. That changed in the 19th century: industrialization made books faster to produce, but often less personal.
