Iepazīstinām ar laikmetīgās mākslas izstādes “Virsotne” māksliniekiem. Izstāde skatāma Kultūras centra “Iļģuciems” vasaras mākslas galerijā līdz 31. augustam.
Ilze Aulmane piedalās izstādē “Virsotne” ar instalāciju un performanci apvienojošu darbu kopumu “Virs Virs”.
Instalācija sastāv no stikla vitrīnām, performatīviem instrumentiem (makšķeres, svētku dekori), foto apdruku priekšmetiem (trofejas, medaļas, puzles, uzlīmes, papīra lapas) un melniem izdedžiem līdzīgiem akmentiņiem.
Šajā darbā Ilze Aulmane pieveršas sasnieguma psiholoģijai. “Iedomājieties, jūs liekat puzli un nonākat līdz lielas vienmuļas teritorijas konstruēšanai, piem., pelēkais stūris. Sākotnējais entuziasms var palēnām zust un nepieciešma pacietība. Mēs turpinām, jo mums ir puzles kaste ar attēlu. Sasnieguma fotogrāfijas un trofejas cenšas fiksēt mirkli, bet to uztvere turpina mainīties un tās mudina mainīties arī mūs. Vitrīna ir vieta kas cenšas, cenšas sargāt un rādīt, mēs dzīvojam šādu vitrīnu ielenkumā un vitrīna ir mūsos.”
Instalācija balstās asociatīvos materiālos, kas saistīti ar sportu, izglītību un korporatīvo kultūru. Vizuālo kodolu veido astoņas manipulētas fotogrāfijas. Atkārtojuma un vairāku attēlu apstrādes variāciju rezultātā to nozīmes pastiprinās un uzkrājas. To pamatā ir Aulmanes pieredze, ceļojot, studējot un dzīvojot dažādās Eiropas pilsētās. Vēsturiskā arhitektūra, pamesti un sadeguši transportlīdzekļi, laikapstākļu un laika ietekmē lūpoši plakāti un pilsētvides pārmaiņu pēdas kļūst par fragmentiem, caur kuriem tiek pētīti centienu, pašpozicionēšanās un piederības jautājumi. Šajā šķietami haotiskajā vidē pakāpen*ski izkristalizējas personiski ritmi, nozīmju sistēmas un estētiskās vērtības, kas sāk veidot identitāti.
Performance “Virs Virs” notika izstādes “Virsotne” atklāšanas pasākumā. Performanci autore izpildīja mijiedarbojoties ar speciāli veidotiem “karogiem”. Iepriekš izveidota Aulmanes balss skaņu ieraksta pavadībā viņa radīja asociatīvu pieredzi un vizualizāciju psiholoģisku pieredžu kustību kāpumiem un atslābumiem.
Ilze Aulmane (dz. 1982, Rīgā, Latvijā) ir starpdisciplināra māksliniece, kas strādā instalācijas, fotogrāfijas, glezniecības, skaņas, performances, tēlniecības, zīmējuma un kustīgā attēla jomās. Aulmane savā praksē izmanto nepārtrauktas pusaudzības loģiku, kur fragmentēti, slāņoti attēli un objekti, mainīgas ķermeniskās klātbūtnes un uztveres kustība veido nemierīgas telpiskas kompozīcijas, kur personiskais un universālais nepārtraukti pārklājas.
Ilze Aulmane ieguvusi bakalaura un maģistra grādu Latvijas Mākslas akadēmijā un 2024. gadā absolvējusi Karaliskās Akadēmijas skolas (Royal Academy Schools) Londonā.

Ilze Aulmane participates in the exhibition "Peak" with “High on High”, a series of works that brings together installation and performance.
Installation consist of glass display cases, performative instruments (fishing rods, festive “rain” decorations), photo-printed objects (trophies, medals, puzzles, stickers, sheets of paper), tiny black coal slag like stones.
In this work, Ilze Aulmane turns to the psychology of achievement: “Imagine you are assembling a puzzle and arrive at the construction of a large monotonous area — for example, the grey corner. The initial enthusiasm may gradually fade and patience is necessary. We continue because we have the puzzle box with its image. Achievement photographs and trophies attempt to fix a moment, yet perception of it continues to change and urges us to change as well. The display case is a place that tries — tries to protect and to show; we live surrounded by such display cases, and the display case is within us.”
The installation draws on associative materials linked to sport, education, and corporate culture. Eight manipulated photographs form the visual core of the project. Through repetition and multiple editing variations, the images intensify and accumulate meaning. They originate from Aulmane’s experiences of travelling, studying, and living in different European cities. Historical architecture, burned and abandoned vehicles, weathered posters, and traces of urban transformation become fragments through which questions of aspiration, self-positioning, and belonging are explored. Within this seemingly chaotic environment, personal rhythms, systems of meaning, and aesthetic values emerge and begin to shape identity.
The performance “High on High” took place during the opening event of the exhibition Summit on 30 May 2025, in the outdoor area at the entrance. Duration: 25 minutes.
In the performance artist was interacting with specially created “flags”. Accompanied by a pre-recorded Aulmane’s voice sound piece, she created an associative experience and visualisation of the rises and releases within psychological movement and experience. In her performances, Ilze Aulmane inhabits the rich associative and symbolic space of the “flag” – it leads and signals, gathers, directs, warns, interacting with the flow of air and time, density, and resistance.
Ilze Aulmane (b. 1982, Riga, Latvia) is a cross-disciplinary artist working across installation, photography, painting, sound, performance, sculpture, drawing, and moving image. In her practice, Aulmane employs the logic of perpetual adolescence, where fragmented and layered images and objects, shifting bodily presences, and movements of perception form restless spatial compositions in which the personal and the universal continuously overlap.
Ilze Aulmane received both BA and MA degrees from the Art Academy of Latvia and graduated from the Royal Academy Schools, London, in 2024.
