From September 4th to 6th, the 2026 World Championship of the Akhal-Teke breed took place at Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in the Netherlands. And I finally got around to sharing some photos and my impressions of this event.

This was the second Akhal-Teke championship I have taken part in. Last year, it took place in France.

I have been close to the Akhal-Teke breed for a long time, but I only recently started becoming more involved in this community. And, just as I used to observe the community around Don and Budyonny horses, and now the Akhal-Teke community as well, I can say that I really love seeing the shining eyes of people who are in love with their breed.

Not some fashionable or promising breed in the usual sense. People love these horses exactly for what they are themselves: for how they look, for their character, for the history and culture that surround the image of the breed. And personally, I find it very valuable to see something like this.

This year there were many participants and guests from different countries. And this is also something absolutely wonderful and amazing — when love for something brings people together and attracts them to one place. There was so much wonderful communication, both with people I already know personally and with those whom I had only known virtually before.

For me, meeting the Turkmen artists was a completely new and wonderful experience. We talked a lot about art and cultural differences, and it allowed me to touch a world that had been completely unfamiliar to me before.

There were artists from different countries of Europe and Asia at the exhibition.

Unfortunately, the artists’ area was located in such a way that the rings themselves could not be seen. The equestrian centre is quite large, and the cultural area was some distance away from the place where the horses were presented. And this was my first exhibition where I didn’t photograph a single horse. I practically didn’t see the horses at all, except when I visited the stables.

But sometimes it is like that. After all, I went there primarily to work, not to look at horses. But it is always nice when you can combine the two))

Peelbergen Equestrian Centre itself is very beautiful and interesting in the way it is designed. I had never seen places like this before. The horses do not live there permanently; they only come there for competitions.

As it happens when you travel somewhere for work, you don’t really get the chance to see anything around you. So this was my first visit to the Netherlands, but apart from the 20-minute drive from the hotel to the equestrian centre, I saw almost nothing except wonderful little village houses, with paddocks with horses next to almost every one of them. Just a dream! But there is still plenty of time ahead, and I hope that on my next trip at the end of October I will be able to see a little more.

Apart from exhibiting my paintings, I was also giving awards. I have been doing this for many years, and at exhibitions I always give my own works as prizes to the champions. This time I decided that I wanted to award two mares. One was the best mare of the exhibition, chosen not by me. And the second was a one-year-old filly who I personally liked the most.

I chose mares because most often the glory goes to stallions, and even in historical materials, you can see mares in photographs much less often. So I wanted a little bit of female solidarity in all of this.

In the last photo there is a palomino stallion and a portrait with two horses. It is a portrait of two Akhal-Teke stallions: Amudar, who was the champion of the exhibition last year, and his son Mudaris, who became the best two-year-old stallion. This year only the younger one came, and his owner, who had commissioned the joint portrait of father and son from me, and I really wanted to take a photo with the painting and Mudaris.

I am already looking forward to the next championship and to becoming even more immersed in the world of the Akhal-Teke breed.

С 4 по 6 сентября в Peelbergen Equestrian Centre в Нидерландах проходил Чемпионат мира ахалтекинской породы 2026. И я наконец-то собралась поделиться немного фотографиями и впечатлениями от этого события.

Это был мой второй ахалтекинский чемпионат, в котором я принимала участие. В прошлом году он проходил во Франции.

С ахалтекинской породой я близка уже давно, но вливаться в это сообщество начала лишь недавно. И, как раньше наблюдая за сообществом донских и будённовских лошадей, а теперь и за ахалтекинским, я могу сказать, что мне очень нравится видеть горящие глаза людей, влюблённых в породу.

В породу — не какую-то модную и перспективную в общепринятом смысле. Этих лошадей люди любят именно за то, какие они сами: за их внешность, характер, историю и культуру, которые сопровождают образ породы. И лично для меня очень ценно наблюдать подобное.

В этом году было очень много участников и гостей мероприятия из разных стран. И это тоже прекрасно и удивительно — когда любовь к чему-то объединяет и притягивает людей, позволяя им собираться в одном месте. Было много чудесного общения как с теми, с кем я уже знакома лично, так и с теми, с кем мы знакомы только виртуально.

Для меня стало особенно интересным открытием знакомство с туркменскими художниками. Мы много общались на тему искусства и культурных особенностей, что позволило мне прикоснуться к совершенно незнакомому мне ранее миру.

На выставке были художники из разных стран Европы и Азии.

К сожалению, расположение зоны художников было таким, что сами ринги видно не было. Территория конного центра достаточно большая, и культурная зона находилась на удалении от места для выводки лошадей. И это была моя первая выставка, когда я не сфотографировала ни одной лошади. Я практически вообще не видела их, за исключением посещения конюшни.

Но бывает и так. Всё-таки я ехала в первую очередь работать, а не смотреть на лошадей. Но всегда приятно, когда это можно совмещать))

Сам Peelbergen Equestrian Centre очень красивый и интересный по своему устройству. Я раньше никогда не видела подобных мест. Лошади там не живут на постоянной основе, а только приезжают на старты.

Как бывает, когда едешь куда-то работать, ничего вокруг посмотреть не удаётся. Так что Нидерланды я посетила впервые, но помимо дороги от отеля до конного центра, занимавшей 20 минут, я не видела ничего кроме чудесных деревенских домиков, рядом с которыми практически у каждого были левады с лошадьми. Мечта просто! Но ещё всё впереди, и я надеюсь в следующую поездку в конце октября увидеть немного больше.

Помимо того, что я выставляла картины, я ещё и награждала. Это я практикую уже много лет и всегда на выставках награждаю чемпионов своими работами. В этот раз я решила, что хочу наградить двух кобыл. Одна кобыла — лучшая кобыла выставки, которую выбирала не я. И вторая — годовалая кобылка, которая мне больше всего понравилась.

Кобыл я выбрала, потому что чаще всего слава достаётся жеребцам, и даже в исторических материалах кобыл на фото можно видеть гораздо реже. Так что мне хотелось какой-то женской солидарности во всём этом.

На последнем фото — соловый жеребец и портрет с двумя лошадьми. Это портрет двух ахалтекинских жеребцов: Амудара, который в прошлом году был чемпионом выставки, и его сына Мудариса, ставшего лучшим двухлетним жеребцом. В этом году приехал только младший, и мы с его хозяйкой, которая мне и заказала совместный портрет отца и сына, очень хотели сделать фото с картиной и Мударисом.

С нетерпением жду следующего чемпионата и погружения в мир ахалтекинской породы.
