Rakstāmmašīnas ne vienmēr bija lielas un smagas – ļoti populāras bija arī portatīvas rakstāmmašīnas, kas varēja ielikt koferī un nest līdzi – no mājas uz biroju, komandējumu vai vispār atvaļinājumu. Vai nu arī lai rakstītu ceļā – vilcienā, lidmašīnā vai arī uz kuģa. Šoreiz izstāde ir tieši par tiem mazajiem ceļabiedriem, kas savulaik palīdzēja ražīgajiem cilvēkiem strādāt, vai arī iztēlot savas domas ceļā. Work From Anywhere, tikai 20. gadsimtā.
Izstāde notiks 30. jūlijā, no 19.00 līdz 22.00, mēneša pēdējā ceturtdienā, ar iespējamo atkārtojumu augusta vidū.
Izstādē būs iespējams:
• Uzzināt, kā rakstāmmašīna varēja palīdzēt darbam ceļā, kā arī rakstniekam atvaļinājumā;
• Apskatīties, kas bija portatīvās rakstāmmašīnas koferos, lai rakstāmmašīna turpinātu labi kalpot arī ceļā;
• Izmēģināt rakstīt uz mazas rakstāmmašīnas pašiem un paņemt līdzi uzrakstīto!

Typewriters weren’t only big and heavy – small, portable typewriters were as popular as their bigger counterparts – you could even put these in a suitcase and take with yourself – from home to the office, on a business trip or even to a vacation. Or maybe write something on your way – on a train, an airplane or on board of a ship. This exhibition will tell you about these little travel buddies that helped the most productive ones of mankind to work or express themselves on their way. Imagine 20th century Work from Anywhere.
The exhibition will happen on 30th of July, from 19:00 until 22:00, on this month’s last Thursday, with a potential additional event in the middle of August.
During the exhibition, you will be able to:
• Learn how typewriters could help to work or write stories in a commute;
• Take a look at what was happening in an old typewriter’s suitcase, that allowed them to work flawlessly even on the move;
• Try out writing on a small portable typewriter yourself and take what you wrote with you!
