MARC CHAGALL Exhibition : “An Angel in Mind”.

On the last Friday of September, we invite guests to the exhibition Marc Chagall: “An Angel in Mind”.

From 26 September to 5 October, the Museum of Pacific and Oceanic Arts invites you to discover a luminous selection of Marc Chagall’s stained-glass and biblical lithographs.

These works open a window into the spiritual depth and poetic imagination of one of the 20th century’s great visionaries. Through vibrant color and layered symbolism, Chagall weaves faith, memory and emotion into images that remain alive for new generations.

Step into this unique exhibition and experience how art, spirituality and human feeling meet in Chagall’s timeless legacy. ✨

🌟 Every exhibition begins as a dream, and with Shapeshifter, Rodion has brought his vision to life in colors that truly transform the space. Congratulations to Rodion for his remarkable paintings!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the first unveiling at the museum. It was a beautiful moment of art, community, and celebration.

Step into the dreamlike world of RodionAbstract


—the artistic alias of Rodion Shehovtsov—
for a sweeping retrospective that spans eight transformative years of creative work.


Based in Riga, Latvia, Rodion Shehovtsov is a professional artist, journalist, graphic designer, and publisher, known widely for his insightful writing on the cultural landscape of Riga. But in this exhibition, he turns the focus inward, sharing what truly energizes him: the raw, unfiltered joy of painting.
Working in a deeply personal and intuitive style, Rodion uses abstraction as a language of pure emotion—for him, abstract art is humour, chaos, healing, and catharsis all at once. Each canvas becomes a playground of colour and gesture, as if inviting the viewer to dive into a field of feeling. His works—ranging from portraits and landscapes to expressive interiors—are built through layers of finger-painted acrylics, tempera, textile paint, inks, crayons, pencils, gold and silver leaf, creating a tactile, almost visceral experience.
Rodion has painted since childhood, always seeing art as something to be shared and felt, not just viewed. His process is physical, immersive, and joyfully chaotic—often blurring the boundary between painting and play. His compositions move between moody, emotional density and light-filled, exuberant colour, reflecting a dance between the spontaneous and the symbolic.
This exhibition, titled Shapeshifter, is both a celebration and a journey. It captures Rodion’s ongoing metamorphosis as an artist—his exploration of energy, humour, and inner landscapes through abstract expression. His art resonates not only within gallery walls, but across the rhythms of Riga’s cultural life—from intimate interiors to music covers that echo his visual energy.
Ultimately, Rodionabstract’s art is an invitation—to feel more, laugh more, and let go. It is an experience, a shared dive into emotion, colour, and the strange beauty of being human.

This exhibition is now open until the 15th of September. We are open from Monday to Friday from 10am till 5pm. And on the weekends by appointment only. All are Welcomed.
