Black organza and a clearly visible design.

After many attempts, I found my method: I print the design as usual, using my favorite technique, but I don't peel the organza off the sticky paper right away. In this state, the fabric holds its place well, the thread direction is correct, and the design is clearly visible — so I trace over it with a white gel pen. Only then do I remove it from the paper and iron it. The fabric is ready to be assembled onto the embroidery frame.

One simple step that solves a big problem.

It starts with a moth.
A sphinx hawk moth — sketched, then set beside its first materials: black tulle, thread older than I am, dark metal beads waiting for their place.
This is the first piece of something new. Four pieces are coming, each one a little lighter than the last. This one is the darkest.
