Šajā pavasarī aizsācies jauns Sansusī projekts "Kailgliemežu rezidences"! 🐌
Projekta ietvaros augusta sākumā rezidenču centrā "Susēja" ieradīsies mākslinieki Danute Līva un Filips Staņislavskis, lai pētītu Spānijas kailgliemezi un tā invāzijas Latvijā kontekstu. Taps instalācijas un publiskas darbnīcas, kas aicinās reflektēt par šo "nelūgto viesi", vienlaikus aktualizējot jautājumus par klimata krīzi, globalizāciju un sabiedrības pilsoniskā aktīvisma nozīmi.
Vai varam skatīties uz Spānijas kailgliemezi kā prizmu, caur kuru domāt par piederību, atbildību un līdzāspastāvēšanu mūsdienu apstākļos?
Projekta īstenotāji - mākslinieki Danute un Filips - projekta mērķi raksturo šādi: apvienot ekoloģisku realitāti ar māksliniecisku spekulāciju, personīgu pieredzi ar kolektīvu domāšanu, un vietējo kontekstu ar globāliem procesiem.
Mākslinieki iezīmē savu interesi par kailgliemezi ne tikai kā kaitēkli, bet arī kā zīmi plašākiem procesiem - klimata pārmaiņām, globalizācijai, cilvēka vēlmei kontrolēt vidi un kategoriskiem domāšanas veidiem. Vienlaikus šis organisms kļūst arī par personisku izaicinājumu: estētisku, emocionālu un pat fobisku (Danutei ir moluskofobija).
Projekts tiek īstenots ar Eiropas Savienības, projekta GEAR UP! un Latvijas Platforma attīstības sadarbībai - LAPAS finansiālu atbalstu.

This spring, Sansusī launched a new project - “Slug Residencies”
In early August, artists Danute Līva and Filips Staņislavskis will arrive at the Sansusī Art Residency Center Susēja to explore the Spanish slug and the context of its spread in Latvia. Through this process, they will create installations and public workshops that invite audiences to reflect on this “uninvited guest” while opening up wider questions about the climate crisis, globalisation, and the role of civic engagement in society.
Can the Spanish slug become a prism through which to think about belonging, responsibility, and coexistence today?
The artists describe the project as an attempt to bring together ecological reality and artistic speculation, personal experience and collective thought, and the local context with global processes. They are interested in the slug not only as a pest, but also as a sign of larger forces at work: climate change, globalisation, the human urge to control the environment, and rigid ways of thinking. At the same time, this organism also becomes a personal challenge: aesthetic, emotional, and even phobic, as Danute lives with molluscophobia.
