THEATER FEDERATIOUN

The THEATER FEDERATIOUN is the Luxembourgish federation of professional theatres. The THEATER FEDERATIOUN is the Luxembourgish federation of performing arts.

It brings together all the professional theatres, ensembles, several cultural centres and professional artists of Luxembourg. Altogether, the THEATER FEDERATIOUN counts 22 members. Since its foundation in 1996, the THEATER FEDERATIOUN defends the interests of its members and supports them in fulfilling their missions. The THEATER FEDERATIOUN fosters cooperation and dialogue among its members and o

rganizes common activities. In doing so, the THEATER FEDERATIOUN contributes to the preservation and the development of the diverse theatre scene in Luxembourg. Topics, which the THEATER FEDERATIOUN works on together with its members in various committees, include promoting Luxembourgish theatre and dance abroad, introducing children and young people to theatre and dance, as well as the labour law and the cultural policy that set the framework for theatre and dance professions in Luxembourg. As an interest group, the THEATER FEDERATIOUN provides a platform for its members to raise and discuss common concerns. Furthermore, the THEATER FEDERATIOUN supports its members in promoting their artistic programme. The website of the THEATER FEDERATIOUN contains the complete programme of all the members for the whole season. Another mission of the THEATER FEDERATIOUN is to raise public awareness when it comes to the performing arts, their successes and their concerns, both in general and more specifically related to Luxembourg.

🇫🇷 Le groupe de travail "international" a clôturé hier sa deuxième réunion, qui a permis de mettre en commun les atouts, les expériences et les bonnes pratiques des membres de la THEATER FEDERATION. Ensemble, nous nous engageons à faire rayonner encore plus la scène théâtrale et chorégraphique luxembourgeoise au-delà de ses frontières. 🙌

🇩🇪 Die Internationale Arbeitsgruppe hat gestern ihre zweite Sitzung abgeschlossen, in der die Stärken, Erfahrungen und bewährten Verfahren der Mitglieder der THEATER FEDERATION gebündelt wurden. Gemeinsam setzen wir uns dafür ein, die luxemburgische Theater- und Tanzszene über die Landesgrenzen hinaus noch mehr bekannt zu machen. 🙌

🇬🇧Despite several public holidays, the THEATER FEDERATIOUN remained very active throughout the month of May. In addition to our usual internal meetings – Board of Directors, working groups... – we continued our meetings with secondary school across the country, held discussions with representatives of two great institutions dedicated to the 7th Art – the Cinémathèque and the LuxFilmFest – to strengthen ties between our sectors, and took part in "Buergermeeschterdaag 2026". In other words: networking, awareness-raising and communication, and lobbying – the three pillars of our mission.

🇫🇷 Malgré plusieurs jours fériés, la THEATER FEDERATIOUN est resté fort active durant tout le mois de mai. En plus de nos habituelles réunions internes – CA, groupes de travail... –, nous avons continué les rencontres avec les lycées du pays dans le cadre de notre travail sur l'Education, nous nous sommes entretenus avec les représentants de deux institutions grand-ducales du 7e Art – la Cinémathèque et le LuxFilmFest – pour resserrer les liens entre nos secteurs, et participé au "Buergermeeschterdaag 2026". Autrement dit : du travail de réseau, du travail de sensibilisation et communication et du travail de lobbying qui sont les trois piliers de notre mission.

These exchanges are invaluable in helping us better understand the needs and challenges schools face when it comes to cultural outings. As the THEATER FEDERATIOUN, one of our goal is to strengthen the connection between schools and theatrical institutions, making culture more accessible and meaningful for students.

Ces échanges sont inestimables pour nous aider à mieux comprendre les besoins et les défis auxquels les écoles sont confrontées en matière de sorties culturelles. En tant que THEATER FEDERATIOUN, l’un de nos objectifs est de renforcer les liens entre les écoles et les institutions théâtrales, afin de rendre la culture plus accessible et plus significative pour les élèves.
