Preparing some stuff. Here a chef's knife forged from an experimental billet I forged a year ago. It's a preparation test for the final damascus blades I worked on the last weeks.

Last steps of the damascus billet before I can forge the final shape. I cut the main billet into two and twisted one clock-wise and one counter-clock-wise. Now final restack and weld, then I can forge the blade.

Testing my new kiln and the heat-treatment system on the simple sandwich-blade. Well as one can see, around 65HRC and no warping. An excellent result.
Besides this small experiment, I'm still working on the damascus and XIV sword. But more about those later.

Besides the large damascus project, I also work on some smaller goods; the hilt parts for an already polished sword blade and this simple three layer kitchenknife.

This week-end Iron Steed Forge was at the museum's farm "Roscheider Hof" in Germany, to show traditional forging techniques to the visitors of the museum.

Today the new "smal" kiln arrived. It's more efficient to use a smaller kiln (50cm) for the heat treatment of shorter goods, than run the large sword kiln (145cm).
