Yesterday brought some beautiful news:
Devin Townsend announced that The Moth — ten years in the making — will finally be released on May 29, 2026. Ten years. That alone says everything about the scale, depth, and spirit behind this album.

And with that announcement came the first advance track.

What makes it especially moving for Lava Drops is that this is one features the Lava Infinite Fretless Drop, played by the one and only Mike Keneally. And you can truly hear it in this mix/video.

Lava Infinite Radiance Drop

A Tribute to the Lotus Esprit.

Some designs speak louder than words. They move us not only through their function but through their proportions, balance, and the quiet confidence of their form.

The Lotus Esprit has always been one of those designs for me. Its geometry, precision, and the tension between form and function create an energy that feels timeless. It is more than a car — it is a statement of design purity and innovation.

That spirit became the inspiration behind the Lava Infinite Radiance Drop, a special creation within the Infinite Series.

The Radiance Drop was conceived as a bridge between automotive design and musical craftsmanship. It is wrapped in authentic Lotus Yellow Mustard, a color that instantly recalls the Esprit’s bold and unmistakable presence. Every detail of this instrument pays tribute to the essence of the Lotus design language: precision, performance, and elegance.

Aircraft-grade aluminium resonance module — delivering structural strength, clarity, and lightweight balance.

6-way gear-shift–style Free-Way switch — inspired by the tactile experience of driving, offering intuitive control and versatility.

Elegant black detailing — reflecting the strong visual contrasts that define the Esprit’s character.

Red power button kill switch — a symbolic nod to performance and energy.

Lightweight Lace pickup combination — for articulate, dynamic, and powerful tone.

Every curve, edge, and junction of the Radiance Drop has been designed to embody the same sense of motion found in the Esprit. The flow of the body, the interplay of materials, and the tactile precision of each element reflect a shared design philosophy: the pursuit of purity and balance.

The Lava Infinite Radiance Drop is not merely an instrument inspired by the Esprit — it is a continuation of its design language. It captures the feeling of speed in stillness - of motion transformed into sound.
Through this creation, I wanted to translate the Lotus spirit: precision, balance, and timeless innovation into a new medium.
A sculptural guitar that resonates not only with sound, but with the emotional geometry of design itself.
