The former Dean of Cabinet, Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, however, launched a verbal attack on the current administration, blaming the government for his mother’s demise.
He said his late mother, Madam Ma. Watta Kumba Soliyah-Larmin, died due to what he called government persecution.

Meanwhile, speaking in an emotional tone over the mortal remains of his mother, the former Foreign Minister emphasized that his mother’s death was not due to natural causes but a political witch-hunt, as he allegedly recounted an incident that violated his mother’s privacy.

Additionally, he added that his mother left him with a charge to ensure Liberia is redeemed in the 2029 general election. So, despite his grief, his political ambition remains firm to fulfill the instruction he vowed to honor.
Furthermore, Kemayah said the only crime he has committed in this government is giving his loyal support to the CDC and former President George M. Weah.

Moreover, he continued in his statement that he acknowledges his Lofa roots, but he received no help from President Boakai at the time he used to call him “the Kissi man” when he was Vice President.

Finally, he has repeatedly linked that incident to the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death, where he was arrested by state security forces over a corruption investigation case involving allegations of theft and mismanagement of more than 25,000 bags of rice donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The South-Eastern Alliance of Liberia, known as SEAL, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting credible, transparent, and democratic electoral processes in the country.

The Alliance, a key stakeholder in national development, emphasized the need to strengthen institutions that protect the will of the Liberian people, especially the National Elections Commission.

SEAL has also commended President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for nominating Mr. Jonathan K. Weedor as Chairman of the Commission. The group says Mr. Weedor’s experience in stakeholder engagement and strategic coordination makes him suitable to lead the NEC at this critical time.

At the same time, SEAL is calling for a transparent and merit-based confirmation process that will uphold the independence and integrity of the Commission.

Meanwhile, the Alliance has reiterated its readiness to support efforts aimed at improving voter education, strengthening electoral transparency, and promoting national unity across Liberia.
