Liberian Talents to the world - A Revolution is Coming....
Many years have passed since the world helped Liberia to end a decade long civil war. The effects of the war on Liberians are still being felt in every facet of our society. UNICEF asserts that young people remain the most affected group of Liberians; nevertheless, many young fellows today have come to the realization that there is a need to take self responsibility - taking actions to bring about better living conditions and make their dreams come to fruition.
Many young people have been making ways to earn something to help themselves and their families. Many have been doing so through petty trading in the streets of Monrovia. Yet others, on the other hand, remain busy doing it the other way in some street corners in Monrovia.
Recent years have seen a rise of talents in Liberia or the interest thereof, especially in Arts and Culture, with entertainment topping the list. While some very few of these young talents are making progress, others continue to find it very difficult to make a mark in the sector that is full of so much opportunity. Even those doing better are still limited to the confines of Monrovia, Liberia least to talk about the international scene. A very few has made it on one or two occasions on the international scene.
We at Lib Talents believe there is room for improvement; there is a way to make lots of young people discover, develop, and put their talents in use. We have the passion to help out in whatever weak way possible to take Liberian Talents to the world. For instance, we want to watch Liberian music playing on Trace Naija and other internationally recognized entertainment television platforms in Africa and the world.
Over the last one year, we have been busy finding out exactly what is happening in the arts and cultural sector of Liberia. We found out lots of things. For now, our concern is drawn to the fact there is still a very limited number of programs to help young people discover, develop and utilize their talents in arts and culture. Lib Talents, realizing the need to help close such gap, has decided to come forth to contribute to the betterment of young talents developments by crafting and implementing programs that will see our young people discover, develop, and fully utilize their potential in arts and culture.
Currently, our only means of helping is promoting the work of Liberian Talents (entertainment in general). We are a non-for-profit team of volunteers and we intent to remain so as long as possible. We are delighted to help out, to let the world know that there are talented young people in beloved Liberia; that Liberian youth are determined to make Liberia a better place; and that we are strong and resilient people.
Watch out, because bigger things are in store for young people. We will set our effort toward developing programs to attract support from available sources. Remember, we are a non-for-profit group. We are Lib Talents!
Thank you for following us and have a great weekend.
