The Question I Never Asked
I used to search the skies for answers,
Counting stars like forgotten promises,
Wondering why some hearts break
While others find a home.
I questioned the silence of the night,
The cruelty of distance,
The timing of two souls
Trying to find each other
In a world full of almosts.
But then you came.
And suddenly,
I stopped asking why the roads were difficult.
I stopped wondering why my heart
Had to wander through lonely seasons.
Because every step led me to you.
Maybe the universe was not delaying love;
Maybe it was preparing it.
Maybe every disappointment was a lesson,
Every goodbye was a doorway,
Every tear was a river
Carrying me closer to your shore.
Your love does not feel like a storm;
It feels like the morning after one.
The quiet peace that arrives
When the darkness finally surrenders
To the first touch of sunlight.
With you, I learned
That love is not about finding perfection.
It is about finding someone
Whose imperfections feel like poetry,
Whose presence feels like home,
And whose heartbeat speaks a language
Only my soul understands.
I do not blame the past
For the scars it left behind.
Those scars became the map
That guided me toward your arms.
I do not blame fate
For the years we spent apart.
Perhaps some stories need time
Before they become beautiful.
Because a flower does not apologize
For blooming late.
It simply opens
When the season is right.
And you are my right season.
So if anyone asks me
Who is responsible
For this happiness I carry,
I will not mention destiny,
I will not mention luck.
I will simply say:
It was two hearts
That chose to recognize each other.
Two souls
That refused to walk away.
Two people
Who discovered that love
Was never meant to be found;
It was meant to be felt.
