Funk In your Trunk
Raise your hands for a collective of veteran musicians who have strayed from the norm, stayed true to their defiant genre bending vision and giving rise to their very own sound. The band comprises of six talented individuals, Chunky (Lead Guitar), Scheherazade Asmone (Vocals), Manuja Kodikara (Drums), Sajana B (Bass Guitar), Madhawa Perera (Keyboards), and Germaine (Synth/effects), each unique in their styles, together bringing a revolutionary sound fusing funk, alternative grooves and deep bass runs.
The brainchild of producer, virtuoso musician and studio honcho Chanaka (Chunky) Abeyratne, Funk In your Trunk draws influences from personal favorites such as old school funk, effect driven alternate music as well as the good old blues, and revered artists such as James Brown, The Music, BB King, Massive Attack and Lettuce among others.

They etch electronics fused with synthetic and guitar mirages amongst varying bass lines, trickling delicate lyrical insinuations and a rhythm section akin to some proper head nodding sounds.
After tirelessly working on content for a full album, Funk in your Trunk will soon have an album out for purchase soon this year.

From the chaotic paradise of Sri Lanka, to the concrete jungles of Singapore, from mysterious locations to burning nightspots across cities type B is a master at leaving no stone unturned, and leaving no man behind! — decks have been helmed at Home Club, The Supperclub, The Ministry of Sound, Attica, The Butter Factory, La Maison (Mimolette), BluJaz Cafe, The Border Movement Lounge, Amuseum, Glassé and Silk, as well as at festivals such as Pettah Interchange, the Colombo Design Market, the Singapore Street Festival and Oh.My.Goat, to name a few. While being a cornerstone of the synQ Music Collective (Singapore) and Musicality Colombo (Sri Lanka), a Pioneer Digital DJ Battle semi-finalist (Singapore, 2009 and 2012) and a TNL Onstage Spin-off Finalist (2013), varied beats and a love for energy has always been key. Introducing Live Trinco Personality Dinka - The last five years has seen the Swiss born spread her wings and uplift house and progressive enthusiasts everywhere! Lying true to her name Dinka shadows the South Sudanese tribe that it hails from.
